WFD is coming up this weekend. Am I going to turn out for it?

In the end, like every other year, I will make the actual decision around noon on Saturday. Right now I am feeling some reluctance; Wisconsin is going through the Polar Winter phase of the “10 seasons of Wisconsin”; overnight lows sub-zero to single digits, daytime highs single digits to teens, don’t even ask about the “wind chill” scare numbers.
It looks like the extreme cold will linger through the weekend.

I guess we’ll just see what we see when the time comes. The radio bags are always packed, the Buddipole lives in the car, KwikTrip is open when needed.

Update: Friday, January 23rd
Last nights low, -22 degrees – today’s high, -10 – tonight’s forecast, -22, tomorrows forecast, 0. Please note that these temperatures are in Fahrenheit units; for readers in metric countries the Celsius / Centigrade readings would be -30, -23, -30, -17 .
My current thinking it to try it, operating (as usual) from the car at Wildcat Mountain (also as usual). If I do, it will be with no goals or expectations at all other than to show up, set up, and operate until I decide to quit.
Update: Saturday, January 24th
All day I was feeling unmotivated. The overnight low made it to -28F (-33C) When my car failed to start in the subzero weather, that sealed the deal: I made another cup of coffee and said “Maybe tomorrow. It’ll be warmer.”
