Another antenna project (oh, no!)

A few weeks ago I found the remains of one of the original telescoping whips that came with my Buddipole set. They were made of brass, and took a lot of damage from blowing down in the wind. The stainless steel 17-foot whip I replaced them with has proved much more durable. Examining it with an eye toward tossing it in the recycling bin revealed that the topmost sections were intact and amounted to about 4 feet, enough for a shortened base-loaded antenna of some kind!

Every taped area marks a joint that got broken at one time or another.
The salvaged section, the 3/8-24 threaded base, the scrap piece, pliers.

More about this in the indefinite future!
