Even though it was late in the day, it was just too nice a day to let the opportunity to play radio slip away! I thought a lot about where to go: new park? different park? but in the end, I went with nearby and familiar.

Other than that, everything went well! The X6100 was on the air in minutes, and conditions were good. It was fairly easy to find a few unused kilohertz on 20 meters so I started calling CQ and spotted myself on the POTA site.
Hunters started calling me soon, and continued coming in. By the third page of the log I had lost count. I called “last call”, and got 2 or 3 more. “last call” again, 2 or 3 more. Third or fourth time there were no responses to repeated last calls, so I pushed the power button and spotted myself as QRT.
Wow. 25 contacts in 40 minutes. Two park-to-parks. Thought I heard a DX call once (papa delta ? ??), we tried a couple of time but I couldn’t get his whole call and his signal faded away.

It’s not the quantity, but the quality of the time! Sounds like everybody was thawing out and coming out of the woodwork ;)!
