It’s probably two weeks ago, now, that I saw a couple of yellow leaves fall off a tree and land by my feet. Around that same time I noticed a few green acorns on the ground. Nights (and days) have gotten cooler. Sunrise and sunset, always in motion, are contracting the daylight hours, a little more every day …
On the other hand, the hummingbirds are still here (but not for long), as are the sandhill cranes (though they won’t leave until October), so we are only just beginning the slow progression of little events that leads to winter.
Back up to the top, reading this over, maybe it sounds like I am sad about the change? Not true! These are just my observations from daily life. I am savoring every day of it, and grateful for the opportunity to do so!
