Hamvention!

No, I’m not in Xenia, Ohio this weekend, but I am wearing my old volunteer hat in observance of the occasion!

A quick note for anyone looking for current coverage of Dayton: I am reading Thomas Witherspoon (K4SWL)’s blog, qrper.com

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Dayton; the last time I was there it was still in the Hara Arena … I remember standing in the crowd by the gate as the State Fire Marshal checked that everything was safe … sometimes this would run past the 8:00 opening time and little pockets of restlessness would form, muttering was heard, but we all waited patiently enough until the golden moment arrived and we fanned out across the lot; some heading for the buildings and commercial vendors, others (like me) into the flea market!

Finishing off this post, on Tuesday:

So yesterday I hung the old hat back on the hook by the door, resumed my regular MHI 1895 – Team Haven hat (hey, gotta love a walrus playing a banjo, right?), and excavated the shallow trench to run water to The Other Garden.

Today, plumbing hookup, laundry, and whatever else comes along.

Maybe next year ?

Thanks for visiting driftlessqrp!
