Though I planned on doing some shopping for early farm-stand produce (I did buy a bunch of asparagus, cut fresh this morning), I only got as far as Wildcat Mountain State Park today. I had the X6100 radio pack in the car, and when the thought of setting up to do POTA crossed my mind it only took 10 minutes to get on the air.
I started out hunting for either POTA stations, or a place to start calling CQ. Worked one park, then a 3-fer, and another P2P. Found some open space and started calling … a 2-fer P2P contact came in, then a hunter, them another P2P!
QRM forced me off that frequency, and while tuning around 20 meter phone I found and worked two more parks. That brought my total to 11 contacts, a valid activation in 73 minutes on the air, not bad for low power single sideband.

I didn’t take any pictures, so that really is about all there is.
I activated a new (to me) park last weekend, I’ll post about that one next.
Thanks for visiting driftlessqrp !
